At many of these national conferences, he leads cadaver dissections to showcase his unique surgical techniques to other surgeons around the world. He strongly believes surgeons should shape noses and facial contours in a harmonious manner that maintains ethnic congruency. This passion motivated him to publish a textbook entitled, “Global Rhinoplasty – A multicultural Approach.” He is also the co-director of the prestigious Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship of Los Angeles which trains future leaders in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery. Dr. Ghavami completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, which is one of the top training programs in the United States. He trained under some of the most innovative leaders in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. Dr. Ghavami also completed an advanced fellowship training in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery at UTSW. He earned his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin Medical School after completing his undergraduate education in Biology at the University of California-Irvine.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Ghavami is an avid guitar player, sculptor, artist, tennis player and creative writer. He has developed a keen interest in health and longevity.
